Multiple Sclerosis Ireland is encouraging Dubliners to take part in its ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ charity competition.

Taking place on Friday 27 November from 8pm at The Wright Venue in Swords, Co Dublin, the night is in support of services for people with multiple sclerosis.

In the run up to the competition, participants will have the opportunity to train twice weekly from 19 October with Back Street Dance Studios, located at Swords’ Airside Retail Park.

Dancers will compete in pairs, dancing two routines each on the night, in the hope of impressing the judges.

But the most important thing is raising funds towards supporting the MS Care Centre in Terenure,  Ireland’s respite care centre for people living with MS.

The Centre provides medical care for those living with MS in a ‘home away from home’ setting. Each week 12 residents enjoy a number of social and therapeutic activities such as yoga, massage, day trips, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a personalised nursing assessment.

Over 8,000 people in Ireland have MS, a chronic disease and the most common disabling neurological condition affecting young people in Ireland.

Register today for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at www.ms-society.ie, call 01 678 1600 or email fundraising@ms-society.ie to receive more information.
