Ireland’s promising young writers have just two more weeks to enter submissions to a writing contest offering over €3,000 in cash prizes.

Entries for Metro Éireann’s third annual Intercultural Writing Competition, hosted in collaboration with Duke University’s Kenan Institute for Ethics, close at midnight on 30 July.

Writers between the ages of 14 and 21 should send original works of fiction that explore the ethical challenges associated with multiculturalism to
info@metroeireann.com before that deadline.

A panel of five judges will select winners in two age categories from the pool of submissions.

Bill McCarthy, project co-ordinator for the competition, said he is excited to read this year’s top submissions.

“We are thrilled to be running another edition of our writing contest. The competition has so far been an excellent mechanism for intercultural exchange, and we expect this year’s submissions to again be wonderful tributes to the many cultures living in Ireland.”

For more information, interested parties may contact Bill McCarthy at 087 160 5950 or Chinedu Onyejelem at 01 878 3441 Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm. Details are also published in full at Facebook.com/MetroEireann.
