It was great news to hear that the Greek government will continue with its opposition to EU labour laws despite being put under intense pressure.

The erosion of overtime and public service jobs in the EU has turned workers across the continent into the working poor. 

Public service jobs are a stepping stone to a just society, among other things. We can only hope that Greece holds on to social justice as part of its agenda, and that it may be a beacon to the rest of Europe.
